Posted December 6, 2008 by TrafficKahuna

If one suddenly experiences intense anxiety along with feelings of fear and apprehension along with sweating, accelerated heartbeat, shaking and trembling, palpitations, short of breath, Nausea or stomach cramps, choking sensation, Chills or hot flashes, tingling in the toes and fingers, fear of losing control and going crazy, these are all panic attacks symptoms.

Causes of Panic Disorder:

Panic disorders, also known as General anxiety disorder or panic attacks are caused when the mind perceives a relatively harmless situation to be a potential danger and hence triggers the physical anxiety sensations. When these anxiety levels soar up somehow, it results in extreme physical sensations like hands shaking, palpitations etc.

One important fact about panic disorder that everyone needs to understand is that panic disorders are a problem of the mind and it has nothing to do with the body. If you would like to be sure, go and get a general check up to feel confident that everything is alright. Hence, medication and drugs prescribed by the doctors will be of no help as they are mean to give you a temporary relief from the mere physical symptoms. Further, in this process, it can get you addictive and cause you more anxiety than the actual panic attack itself.

Typically, the solution for treatment involves psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or medication. However, there are a number of things you can do on your own as well from your home.
